All statements of principle issued at the congresses of road safety, demands the integration of society in general in the work to reduce accidents on the roads and streets. When speaking of society refers to the social sectors organized to prevent accidents, deaths and injuries caused by them. The Catholic Church expresses its commitment with the theme from the Holy see through the orientations for the pastoral of the road/Street. From there, it instructs its dependencies to promote national, regional and global road safety. However, does not display any concern at the level of the Dominican Republic. This is because, we consider a serious problem for Dominican families and for the national economy, the large number of victims of fatal road traffic product.

We also consider that the Catholic Pastoral in our country, constitute a propitious setting to discuss the road safety welcoming heartfelt reflection of the Vatican. The sports clubs, the boards of Neighbours, trade unions of transportation, professional guilds of engineering, law; doctors in their different specialties, especially in Traumatology, psychology, psychiatry, cardiology, orthopedic and others; members of the press; of the media, private companies and non-profit associations. All are important parts that must be involved in the motivated problems through initiatives of the State and its various bodies. Political parties are also important, not only because they strengthen the democratic and participatory nature of society as a whole, but because they promote debates and initiatives to other levels of Government, as it is the legislature. Good practices of public policies on the successful countries in this regard, confirmed the involvement of all these actors.

But, this is due to a layout Plan, strategically orchestrated, sustainable over time, affordable and economically sustainable.
