Consultum Conversations
About the German-American relationship the German-American relations were John C. Kornblum under the new Government the focus of the Consultum conversations in the House the Federal press conference. Hans Erich Bilges, the managing partner of the consulting firm, welcomed to prominent representatives from politics and economy. They had come to a lecture by John C. Kornblum, the former U.S.
Ambassador to Germany, at the Schiffbauerdamm in Berlin. Kornblum, who has the best connections to the American administration, warned not to expect too much from the Government under Barack Obama. Under the new President, the connections to the European Governments would ensure sustainably improve, but would be the first not a priority for the U.S. Government. Currently, too many problems of its own, and last but not least, the developments in the Middle East would be in focus.
After a dedicated discussion with Kornblum a reception for the guests joined in. Foreign Minister (ret’d) Hans-Dietrich Genscher, suggested, chatted with Dr. Holger Hatje, the Chairman of the Board of Berliner Volksbank and its colleague Stephan Schwarz. Sigrid Bauschert, Director of the management circle AG, was Dieter Stolte, former ZDF intendant, who in turn interested talked about his work as ARD correspondent in Washington with Lothar Lowe pleased with the encounter with Prof. Dr. h.c.. Among the guests were also Hans Jochen Henke of the Economic Council of the CDU and Dr. Wolfgang Kischlat, head of foreign policy in the President’s Office, the politician Walther Leisler KIEP (Honorary Chairman of the Atlantik-Brucke) and Volker Hassemer from the Board of Directors of the Foundation future Berlin, as well as Dr. Gary Smith (Director of American Academy). In addition, Hans-OLAF Henkel, the former President of the Federal Association of German industry, Helmut Sendlmeier, Chairman and CEO of McCann Erickson, and Jorg Woltmann, sole shareholder of Royal Prussian porcelain factory, as well as numerous communications heads of large companies by Air Berlin to Vattenfall.
